Volar Hardware opened its doors in 2025 on Lorong 7 Geylang. We're the kind of shop you can walk into with a broken tap, a torn photo of a fitting, or a rough sketch of your reno — and walk out with the right part, a fair price, and enough advice to fit it yourself.

Singapore has plenty of big-box DIY stores and plenty of specialist trade suppliers — but there's a special kind of shop that used to sit on almost every kampong corner: the neighbourhood hardware shop, where the auntie or uncle behind the counter knew every screw by feel and could tell you exactly why your kitchen tap was leaking. That's the shop we set out to build.
Volar Hardware opened in 2025 on Lorong 7, tucked into the working streets of Geylang. Our shelves stretch across eight departments — from copper aircon pipes and PVC plumbing to cordless drills, LED downlights and cabinet hinges — so a homeowner, an HDB renovator and a small aircon contractor can all find what they need in the same trip.
We price things fairly, we don't upsell, and if we don't have something on the shelf we'll usually get it in for you by the next day. Bring in a picture, bring in the broken part, or just ask — that's what the counter is for.
The name "Volar" comes from the Latin root for "to fly" — a small nod to the idea that a good hardware shop shouldn't slow your project down.
