About Volar

Built to cut the middleman stack.

Volar Hardware was founded in 2025 with a single conviction: Singapore's contractors shouldn't be paying three or four times the factory price for the same hardware being made in the same Chinese cities. So we built the shortest supply line we could — factory to Ubi warehouse to site.

Our story

Same factories. Same hardware. A fraction of the mark-up.

Anyone who has priced a chiller pipe BOQ in Singapore has felt it: a copper elbow that costs a dollar in a Zhejiang factory ends up at three or four on a Singapore invoice. A Wenzhou MCB at five becomes thirty. Nothing about the hardware changed in transit — only how many hands touched the paperwork.

Volar Hardware was founded in 2025 by operators who had spent years on the trade side of that equation — sourcing for HVAC and MEP projects, watching the same Chinese factories quietly supply every distributor in the country. We set out to do something simpler: walk the factory floors ourselves, negotiate in Mandarin, audit the quality in person, and ship direct to our Ubi warehouse.

Today, Volar supplies contractors across eight trade categories — from chiller-pipe copper and aluminium jacketing to solar panels, welding consumables and cabinet hinges. We carry the regulatory paperwork (BCA, PSB Safety Mark, SCDF, PUB where required) so you don't have to chase it. And because we visit our suppliers in person, we can usually answer a spec question faster than the factory's own sales WhatsApp.

The name "Volar" comes from the Latin root for "to fly" — because no project should be waiting on parts.

What we stand for

Three principles that keep our pricing — and our trust — honest.

Transparent pricing

We tell you the indicative range upfront. We explain what's in the price: factory cost, shipping, duty, GST, compliance. No padded line items.

Compliance at the source

We select factories that already produce to the certifications Singapore needs — PSB Safety Mark, IEC, BCA-accepted grades — not ones that promise to "upgrade" later.

Answers that move projects

A contractor who can't get through to their supplier loses a day. We reply on WhatsApp. In English or Mandarin. With a real answer, not a "let me check with the boss".
